Avram Noam Chomsky (December 7, 1928) american linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist, historian, author, social critic and political activist. “Father of modern linguistics” for many, often considered the most important intellectual alive. Is a major figure in analytic philosophy, one of the founders of the field of cognitive science. He holds a joint appointment as Institute Professor Emeritus at the MIT and Laureate Professor at the University of Arizona.
